The Skype application for Mac OS X (See links below) is delivered as a .dmg file which will mount as a disk icon on the Desktop when double clicked. Double clicking the Skype disk icon opens a window revealing the Skype application's icon which should be dragged into the Application folder. Once the Skype application has been copied to the Applications folder you can right click on the Skype disk icon on the Desktop and select Eject from menu to remove the disk from the Desktop. If you want to see the contents of the application you can right click on its icon and select Show Package Contents from the menu.
O.k., this is how you do it, go into your start bar, and go to all programs, find Skype in the list, find the button and right click it and copy it to your desktop. The icon should appear, if not then go back to the file that installs Skype, and reinstall it on your computer, nothing will happen, it just creates a new icon.
Go to search for files and folders and type skype. After it opens, just drag the skype file onto your desktop
