But, There is a simple wayout.I dont know the logic.But it has worked for me.I took out hard disc of old laptop with vista, put it in a casing and used like portable hard disc on usb port of new laptop with windows 8.In tally I changed the address of data folder from earlier D drive to new drive of new laptop.Now Tally program is on external drive and data folder on internal disc and it does work!
