When you reinstall XP it deletes pretty much everything off your computer. If you were repairing, you wouldn't have this problem. Every time you repair/install an operating system, be sure to backup your hard drive just in case. Sorry, you won't be getting your music back anytime soon unless you re-download.
In order to find out if, "Rise of Nations" can be installed on a Windows Vista computer, check the back of the CD case, for the supported operating systems of "Rise of Nations."
All it does is set the configurations back to like a brand new install. Just change it back to the way you had it.
If you have perform a Custom install from windows xp to windows 7. You can speak to a technical support at 1 800 936 5700. They will guide you in reverting back to windows xp using windows.old folder in your computer. You need an older version of windows on a bootable memory stick or disk. you need to backup all the stuff you want to keep, or you'll lose it. Then reboot your computer pressing F12 or F8, or whatever you have to press on your computer to boot from another source. Then follow the instructions provided to install the older version of windows that you want. MAKE SURE YOU BACK UP ALL THE STUFF YOU WANT TO KEEP!!
You will have to be more specific as to what happened and what brand of computer you have. If you reinstalled windows, you will have to use the disk that came with your computer to install the sound card drivers. If you dont have a disk, go to the manufacturer's website and search for them.
You will have to format you hard drive and re-install ME from scratch. Make sure you have backed up all of your data as this will be destroyed during a format
If you have the windows install disc, you can insert it, restart your computer and press any key when it tells you to. This will boot from the DVD and enter the Windows Setup. From there, it will show you a list of partitions on your hard drive before you install windows. Choose the partition on which Vista is installed and click "Delete" under advanced options. The partition will be formatted. If you want to install a fresh copy of Windows Vista, you can do so now. If not, exit windows setup and install whatever OS you want to use. (Make sure you BACK UP your files before formatting - once you format the partition, you can NEVER get the files back.)
You would have to reinstall windows or mac depending on which you have. If you paid for the back-up disks when you bought the computer you can use those, otherwise you will need to get a copy elsewhere.
If you are trying to take the music that you have in itunes with you to the new computer then there is a utility that will allow you to backup your music and any playlists that you have in your current itunes. To do this go to File, then Library, then Back up to disc. Once you install itunes on your new computer you can insert the discs you created and it will restore all the music and settings you had on your previous computer.
Save your music to another music database, like Windows Media Player, then when you have completed your account registration on I tunes you can copy the music back.
