I have always had Kenmore washers and dryers and they have been very reliable. Maytag seems to have more recalls on their products in general.
Kenmore tends to make some great high capacity washers.
The Maytag MDB6759AWS is one of the quietest units on the market today. It is much quieter than washers from previous generations.
Pulsator washers are generally considered better than agitator washers for handling delicate fabrics and reducing tangling. They also tend to be more energy efficient and use less water. However, agitator washers are often preferred for their strong cleaning performance on heavy-duty items and stain removal. Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on personal preference and laundry needs.
There are some websites that will have Maytag parts. Sometimes they will be cheaper than the prices that is offered at Maytag. However Maytag has the advantage of having specific parts for its appliances versus general generic parts at other websites. Also if you want to find a part for your old Maytag, best bet is to check out the website
Maytag's newer models use MUCH less water, have a sanitizing cycle, has an automatic OXI dispenser and on the plus side, they even look quite sleek. It gets the job done, with extra hot water to spare.
General Electric has many models that are more energy efficient than Maytag.
The Maytag MDB6759AWS is EnergyStar qualified, meaning it will use electricity when you run it than a non EnergyStar qualified household item of the same type.
If we are speaking of only one fastner, then the bolt, especially if used with washers are far the best. It depends on how the boards are oriented. If you're trying to strengthen two planks (flat side to flat side) and you have the room (after they're installed) then bolts, washers, lock washers, & nuts are the best. Screws set in at angle will hold better than nails. If this is a permenant application, you can use liquid nails, but it really isn't necessary.
Customers actually feel that GE models need less repairs, but give higher ratings for Maytag's customer service!
Front load washers are easier to load clothes into. They also seem to do a better job at washing clothes. Since front load washers do not have an agitator there is less wear and tear on your clothing. The only con that concerns me is the price of these washers. Other than that, I would rather have one that a regular washer.
There are great energy saving washers made by GE that are priced cheaper than most.
