im not sure if this will work or not but...

If you use a 9v battery threw an inverter, then a step-up transformer to convert 9v DC to 120v ac i think it will light the bulb, however current decreases when you do that and i dont know how much a light bulb needs..worth a try, i might actually try it now

What power does a light bulb with 120V and 5A have?

Power= V * A so 120 V * 5 A = 600 W (J/s)

Why does a battery power a light bulb?

A battery powers a light bulb by converting stored chemical energy into electrical energy. When the battery is connected to the light bulb, a circuit is completed, allowing the flow of electrons through the filament of the bulb, which produces light and heat.

How does a simple circuit with a battery and a light bulb work?

In a simple circuit with a battery and a light bulb, the battery provides electrical energy that flows through the wires to the light bulb. The electrical energy causes the filament in the light bulb to heat up and emit light. This process continues as long as the circuit remains closed and the battery has power.

What happens if you power a 120v light bulb with 300v?

Of course this is a bad idea. It will likely look like a flash bulb and may explode the glass. Do not do anything like this.

What is the smallest way to power a small light bulb?

A small battery.

How many ohms is 5 watt light bulb?

To calculate the resistance of a 5 watt light bulb, you can use the formula P = V^2 / R, where P is power (5 watts) and V is voltage (typically around 120V for a household light bulb). Rearranging the formula to solve for resistance, you get R = V^2 / P. Plugging in the values, R = (120V)^2 / 5W = 2880 ohms. So, a 5 watt light bulb at 120V would have a resistance of 2880 ohms.

Can a light bulb work on a DC voltage?

It can, but if you're wanting to run a 120v light bulb on DC, you'll need 120v DC to get the rated output. That's a lot of batteries. It's easier, and more sensible, to find a DC rated light bulb, such as an RV bulb.

What electricity will let battery and light bulb flow?

Direct current (DC) electricity is the type of electricity that will flow from a battery to power a light bulb since batteries provide DC power. Alternating current (AC) electricity, found in most wall outlets, typically can't directly power a light bulb from a battery without a converter or inverter.

What are the minimum requirements in order to light the bulb?

To light a bulb, you typically need a power source (such as a battery or electrical outlet), a conductive material to connect the bulb to the power source (such as wires), and a functioning bulb itself. When these components are properly connected and the power is supplied, the bulb should light up.

What provides the electricity to light up the bulb?

a battery or a power box by your house.

Will the light bulb light up if you connect a wire to it?

No, a light bulb needs a closed circuit with a power source, such as a battery or electrical outlet, in order to light up. Simply connecting a wire to a light bulb without a power source will not allow it to light up.

What is on off switch?

Say it is a power circuit, a light bulb is bright from the battery, flowing through the wires and the light bulb. There is a switch controling the power that goes through, so if you switched the off switch off, the power will no longer be flowing through(the light bulb wouldn't be bright any longer).
