The battery in a 2006 Pontiac Pursuit is located in the engine compartment, specifically on the driver's side near the front of the vehicle. It is secured in a plastic battery tray and is easily accessible for maintenance or replacement. To access it, simply open the hood and look for the rectangular battery casing.
85 - 92 it's located on the left side from in front of the engine just under the TPS sensor lower part of the throtle body
to get to the battery i had to remove the slanted black pole in the left side under the hood. its right under the fuse box.
you need to jack the car up in the front on the drivers side. take the wheel off and there is an access pannel there with clips (the inside fender well). once you have taken this pannel off, you just need to remove the cables negative first, and change the battery out. approximately 1/2 hour job. Its on the drivers side of the car in the front under the fender , all you have to do is turn your wheel to your right all the way and you will be able to take the battery out and replace it the same way. Its also in your owners manual. I had to do it myself , its not hard at all. sucks where the battery is at but hey , it has to get done one day.
