Then, press and hold the "Setup" button on the remote until the red indicator stays on, then release the "Setup" button. Enter the 3-digit code for your device using the number buttons; the red light will turn off if the code is accepted. If it doesn't work, try repeating the process with the next code in the list for your device.

To try the codes, press and hold the TV button on the universal remote. After you enter the fourth digit, the power light will turn on. Once the light is on, release the TV key. If the power light turns off, you have the correct code and can now use the remote. Depending on the remote you have some remotes ask for a three digit codes some four and some a five digit codes is need. I have found out 02429 works for some remotes that need five digit codes. 2288 will work for some remotes that need four digit codes. Also, for those of you wanting to use a universal remote, I found after some testing that this uses the same code as one of the RCA codes (the 9th or 10th one) that Verizon Fios list of codes. RCA model L32HD31 has the same IR codes as this TV for some remotes. DirecTV remote control code is recognized as RCA TV, It has a sequence of 35 possibilities to try. Hope this helps. Guy6
