Depending on the remote you have some remotes ask for a three digit codes some four and some a five digit codes is need.
I have found out 02429 works for some remotes that need five digit codes.
2288 will work for some remotes that need four digit codes.
Also, for those of you wanting to use a universal remote, I found after some testing that this uses the same code as one of the RCA codes (the 9th or 10th one) that Verizon Fios list of codes.
RCA model L32HD31 has the same IR codes as this TV for some remotes.

Not sure a out your model but try codes for RCA. I have a 24" TCL tv and the code that worked for Direct GV was 11447. Good Luck
On RCA remote: 042 for some control, not full control
To program a Time Warner Synergy V model remote for a TCL TV, you can typically use the TV code 401 or 402. For programming, turn on your TCL TV, then press and hold the "TV" button on the remote until it lights up, followed by entering the code. If the light turns off, the code has been accepted; if it blinks, try the next code. Always refer to the remote's manual for a complete list of codes and further instructions.
I just found a remote code for my TCL L40FHDM11 tv: 651. It works, but I still have to use the remote that came with the tv to turn it on & off and for volume.
I've read elsewhere that Logitech Harmony universal remotes will work using RCA codes, they suggested L32HD31 as your TV to get it to control the TCL tv and comcast. I have used 10047 and 11781 as the remote code for a TCL LCD TV on my Comcast digital adapter remote. They are each RCACodes, that work perfectly on TCL , as RCA is owned by TCL.
...got the same prob last week. the only answer to the prob is a remote control coming from the distributor... you can search the net for the distributor of the TCL TV you have. they will ask you for the tv model. any remote control won't do, it must be a TCL RC alone.
To program a Cox remote to control a TCL L40FHDP60 TV, you can try using the code 11756 or 11593. If these codes do not work, you can also use the code search feature on your Cox remote by pressing and holding the "TV" button until it blinks, then pressing "Enter." Make sure to consult the Cox remote's user manual for additional codes and instructions for programming.
It appears the TCL 55" uses RCA codes. Give RCA codes a try because they worked for me -- in my case, code 333 worked for my Avex R6 (URC-RC) Universal remote control. Maybe the other TCL TVs use the same RCA codes.
To program a RM-88E universal remote control for a TCL TV, you can typically use the code "0030" or "0041." First, turn on the TV, then press and hold the "SET" button until the red indicator stays on, then release the "SET" button. Enter the code using the number keys; the red indicator will turn off if the code is accepted. If this does not work, try other TCL codes listed in the remote's manual.
A code for a universal remote control ge for a Berkshire tv

Try 2434 it works with the URC-8820 remote on the 40" TV.
