it depends on what brand and make the washer is.
I believe you meant Frigidaire.
I purchased 2 higher end "Affinity" models. My washer broke after 4 years and it will cost 400-500 to repair the inner tub seal. Parts are $275 labor $175 if there is nothing else wrong. Warning, Do not buy.
Frigidaire Affinity is made by Electrolux and the front loading washer we had in which I tried to talk my wife out of buying lasted about 6 years and then the drain pump went out and I took it apart myself and the drain pump is very small and has very small plastic fins on it and it is in the front and it had to pump the water to the back and then from the bottom all the way up to the top of the washer so it wasn't made to last too long. These front loaders do use less water but ours just didn't get the clothes clean and with hardly any water I can see so we went back to a top loader and it cleans really well. Now after about 8 years the dryer has stopped and the heating coil is 128.00 plus shipping and I will repair it myself but it has always taken a long time to dry, maybe twice as long so they use more electric so front loader in which I don't see as many in stores no more are not worth the money in my opinion.
GE front loading washer does not come with a no leak guaruntee.
Front-loading washers typically use less water, energy, and detergent compared to top-loading washers. They also tend to be more gentle on clothes due to the tumbling motion of the drum. Additionally, front-loading washers can generally accommodate larger laundry loads.

Yes you can use. But if the front loading washers, if used with the right detergent are a great investment. You’ll save a lot of electricity and money as a result. Yes, most front-loading Maytag washers have a manual release mechanism for opening the door in case of a power failure or malfunction. Look for a small access panel near the bottom front of the washer. Behind this panel, you may find a manual release cord or tab that can be pulled or pushed to unlock the door. Refer to your washer's manual for specific instructions on locating and using the manual release mechanism.
While that sounds as an agreeable proposition to use half the quantity as you would for a top loader, it still is advisable not to use a detergent designed to be used for a top loader when you want to use a front loading washer. It is best to use a HE (High Efficiency) detergent in a front loading washer. Minimal suds is the key. No suds at all is the best option, though quite unlikely. Top loading detergent also inhibits the evaporation of water around the seal and promotes the growth of bacteria mold and mildew.
