normally you press the power button on the tv.
if that is not possible then grab the remote for that tv and press the power button on the remote control.
in the case where neither of the first 2 suggestions did not worked or is impossible then i would say use a universal remote control with the learning feature.
these types of remotes can turn on mostly any device with an ir sensor. just point and click. using a universal learning remote should solve this tv problem for you.
Universal remotes need to be programmed to the T.V. in order for the remote to work on the T.V.

The universal remote code differs for each individual television.
Yes, you can use a universal remote to turn on the closed captioning (CC) feature on your TV, but it depends on the remote's compatibility with your TV model. Look for a universal remote that explicitly supports your TV brand or has a dedicated CC button. Models from brands like Logitech Harmony or other programmable remotes often provide extensive compatibility and custom programming options. Always check the remote’s user manual for specific instructions on enabling CC for your TV model.
If it's an universal remote then probably yes.

To turn on the sleep timer on your Emerson TV using a jumbo universal remote, first make sure the remote is programmed to control the TV. Then, press the “Sleep” button on the remote. If your remote does not have a dedicated Sleep button, you may need to access the TV's settings menu using the remote, navigate to the timer settings, and select the sleep timer option from there. Finally, choose the desired time duration for the sleep timer.
