with a 900 Watt generator, your actually running about 800 watts and it jumps to 900 when apliances kick in. You should be able to power your refrigerator and sump pump during an emergency, depending on the power consumption of your fridge.

As a rule of thumb look at both for wattage usage and add another 10% for when they kick on and that should give you what wattage you need.

For example Lets say your running the following

Standard energy saver 18 cu.ft Refrigerator - 300 watts. runs 30% of the time

Sump Pump - 500 watts. Stays on 100% of the time. Wattage low until pump kicks in.

The maximum wattage your using is 800 watts. However when one or both apliances kick on there is an extra energy draw.

BTW a 900 Watt generator would be perfect for camping to run a few lights and small appliances.

Will a 8000 BTU air conditioner run on a 900 watt generator?

An 8000 BTU air conditioner typically requires between 700 to 1000 watts to operate, depending on its efficiency and design. A 900-watt generator may be able to power the air conditioner during startup, but it might struggle to maintain operation, particularly if the AC draws more power initially. Additionally, the generator's continuous output capacity should be considered, as running the AC at or near the generator's maximum output can lead to overloading and potential damage. It's advisable to use a generator with a higher wattage capacity for reliable operation.

Will a 2800 watt generator run a 550 watt electric cement mixer motor?

Yes, a 2800 watt generator should be able to run a 550 watt electric cement mixer motor. The generator's wattage is more than enough to power the motor with some extra capacity for other devices. Be sure to check the starting wattage of the motor as well to ensure the generator can handle the initial surge of power needed.

Power produced by windmill is 900 Watt Is it per second or per hour?

Watt is a unit of power, not a unit of energy. Joule is the SI unit for energy; Watt means Joule/second. So, the "per time unit" is already implied. Saying "watt per second" or "watt per hour" would be completely wrong. The power is simply "900 Watt".
