I think your fusible link was blown. There sometimes is a wire between the starter and battery that is marked fuse link or fusible link and it is a safety vlave in case of a problem. If yours is unmarked look for a burned wire before the starter. I don't think it is too serious. If you cross the negative and positive cables, you can kill the computer.
connect another cars battery with jumper cables. Will power the trunk motor, and allow it to be closed once cables are connected ( PROPERLY ). You might even be able to jump start car. Good luck
Engine ground can find many paths to the battery, but if NOTHING is connected to the negative post... no, it won't start.
You can disconnect the battery for ten minutes and it will reset
Wires connected to the starter incorrectly or defective ignition switch.
Check the 96 Caddys starter solenoid. Also check the wiring between the battery and the solenoid for any breaks or loose connections.
replaced battery in 1991 cad deville and reprogramed computer as car manual said. now car will turn over but not start
Jump start it from another vehicle or charge the battery. If the battery is bad, replace it. If you jump start it and the battery is dead you will have to wait about 15 minutes with the jump car running and connected to the dead battery, in order to build the battery up enough for it to actually take a jump.
No, you do not have to disconnect the battery. Just do not start the engine with the charger connected unless the charger is built for starting purposes.
a trickle charger will not jump start anything, however if it is left connected long enuff, and the battery will take a charge, the mower should start. to jumpstart, a mower, you can use a car the same as you would jump start another car. just make sure battery in mower is 12 volt same as car
To jump start an engine via the battery; the remote battery and the host battery, being of the same voltage, should be connected in parallel. That is positive terminal to positive terminal, negative to negative.
The function of a battery is to provide electrical energy to devices which are connected to it.
