To address the remote to the receiver, you do need to be on the System Info screen. You can accomplish this by pressing the Menu button on the old remote 2 times or by pressing the System Info button on the receiver for certain receiver models. Once you are on the System Info screen just follow the instructions below. On a Dish Network Remote Press and hold the sat button down on the new remote until all the buttons light. release the sat button it should be blinking. press the rec button 3 times. your new remote should now work your Dish Network Receiver.
