People are inherently lazy. They need to know that if they do something that does not come naturally that they will benefit financially from their actions. Altruism is not a natural instinct and most people are ignorant as to how gas, water, electricity and petrol get to their town. Tax incentives and subsidies are needed for people to install solar panels.Water metering needs to be compulsory and smart meters that allow micro generation of electricity to feed electricity back into the grid when there is a surplus.

Most people think that global warming is a myth cooked up to scare us into paying more for our services. It is a fact and if we do nothing to change our ways the Gaia principle will kick in and the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheet will melt drowning most or all coastal cities.

I completely agree with you. Also I think people are skeptical and because so many celebs are going for going green seems like just a platform for celebrities to generate publicity, and that's why I shyed away from it at first, I didnt want to conform. Oh, and people are way too comfortable in their own lives to really do anything about it, people only think about how things affect them.

Eco-fashion is rapidly increasing in popularity. New brand are producing not only products made from recycled or sustainable materials, but also made using environmentally friendly production processes. Whether it's a fashion fad or not, from an environmental perspective it is a very positive thing.

Today, as environmentally savvy consumers are increasingly supporting 'greener' options, many designers have jumped on the environmental bandwagon and started producing 'eco-fashion' lines. And it seems that celebrities are leading the way in supporting the cause. Cate Blanchett has publicly announced that she will only buy organic cotton. British actress Thandie Newton has endorsed buying second hand clothing rather than contributing to the waste and pollution that is caused during clothing production, and Keira Knightly, Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna and George Clooney have all been spotted wearing environmental fashion statements.

With the increasing popularity of eco-fashion, more and more environmentally aware labels are popping up, marketing themselves as ethical brands whose garments are not only made with recycled or sustainable materials, but are also made using environmentally friendly production processes as well.
