There are different cultural values that are evident in a supermarket. For instance, there are certain ingredients and food items that are bought by people from a particular culture as well as clothing items.
Basically it is the cultures which your ancestors lived in. Cultures can manifest themselves in language, food and drink, clothing and way of life.
Some examples of needs and wants are: clothing, shelter, and nutrients. This was taught to me in first grade. (to give you an idea of the age level)
