How can you remove a melted plastic bag from the top of the toaster oven?

You should be able to scrape it off using a new blade, such as a blade for a Stanley knife or box-cutter. Hardware stores sell scraping handles for this,and they're also good for getting paint overspray off car glass. Be warned: this can damage some oven glass doors and cause them to shatter when hot.

You can heat the oven till it becomes warm enough to liquefy the plastic, then scrap it off. Or you can buy Muriatic Acid, otherwise known as Hydrochloric Acid, which is highly corrosive and probably not the best route to take.

There's also burning it off, but that will create a poisonous gas, so you'll want to leave the stove open, and open all windows and doors, aim a fan towards the door or window closest

Funny thing; Hydrochloric acid can be found in gastric acid, so maybe if you don't eat for a while and hurk up into a jar for a bit, you could produce your own remover? :D Just a random silly fact. ^^

To remove the plastic in a self cleaning electric oven, place a bag of ice on the plastic. Leave until the plastic is brittle. Carefully lift the plastic with a razor blade. I a gas oven, turn the gas off before attempting the process.

It should flake off when cooled but some paint also. That don't work? Warm it back up to soften the plastic and remove it carefully.

Try runing the dryer for a whilr until the plastic starts to soften as a result of the heat. Sill awkward hard work but it will make it easier.

Let the plastic cool and harden. Then simply peel it off. This same thing happened to me on my electric stove top.
