How do you melt a candle that u want to keep?

I'm thinking you don't want to burn the candle but would like to enjoy it's scent. If that's the case, purchase a candle warmer. There are three basic types:

One is like a small Crock Pot. A candle jar is set inside and the pot warms the entire candle, melting it and releasing the fragrance.

A mug warmer is similar, but the candle is warmed from the bottom up. This takes longer for the wax to melt and fragrance to be released.

A top heat lamp is available, This warms the top of a jar candle and releases the scent. Only about the top 1-2" will melt at once. Pour off melted wax after a while if you want more fragrance.
