To grill an 8-pound filet, preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Sear the filet for about 4-5 minutes per side to develop a crust, then reduce the heat to medium and continue grilling for approximately 15-20 minutes per pound, depending on your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to ensure it reaches an internal temperature of 130°F for medium-rare. Total grilling time can range from 2 to 2.5 hours.

it depends on the store but it might be $5.00
I paid $19.99 per pound at a local grocery store (Indiana) on 2/28/09. It was very tender. I have been buying tenderloin for years at Hy Vee for about $20.00 a lb. I started shopping around and found that meat markets have it for about $16.00+ a lb. What really surprised me is that my small local grocery store butcher can order Black Angus tenderloin (never frozen) for me for $12.99 a lb with no minimum order. It pays to shop around if you really like tenderloin.
There are 16 oz. in a full pound, so there are 8 oz. in half a pound.
