The pointy end of a knife blade is called the tip. It is the part of the blade that is used for precision cutting and piercing. The tip's design can vary depending on the type of knife and its intended use.

from the end of the hilt to the tip of the blade
It is possible for the handle of a knife to hit the target instead of the blade as a properly weighted knife will tumble end over end in flight. The trick is to throw from the right distance that the knife will stick its leading edge into the target when it hits.

The difference between a survival knife and regular knife is fairly obvious. Survival knives usually have a fixed blade, the handle may be hollow to hold items that could be used. A survival knife is mainly to help in an emergency situation as a regular knife would be a smaller blade used for eating or cooking.
To measure a chef knife, focus primarily on the blade length, which is typically between 8 to 10 inches for most chef knives. Use a ruler or measuring tape to measure from the tip of the blade to the heel, where the blade meets the handle. Additionally, you can measure the width of the blade at its widest point and the overall length from the tip of the blade to the end of the handle for a complete understanding of its dimensions.
The purpose of the hole in a knife blade depends on the type of knife. Machetes and similar tools/weapons often have a hole near the blade end.. The hole is for hanging the machete from a wall. Secondarily, the hole can be used improvise applications. For machetes with saw teeth on the top edge of the blade, (see the Gerber Machete), a rope can be passed through the hole to turn the saw into a two-person saw.For other, smaller blades the holes function to reduce the weight of the blade, to strengthen the blade through the distribution of the force acting on the blade, to provide a leverage point for one-handed opening of a folding knife, or as ornamentation. In general, they are ornamentation. The holes on these knives are generally in the body of the blade or toward the rear of the blade.
The main parts of a knife include the blade, which is the cutting edge, the handle that provides grip and control, and the tang, which is the part of the blade that extends into the handle for strength. Other important components are the spine (the top of the blade), the heel (the rear part of the blade), and the tip (the pointed end). Additionally, some knives may have a bolster, which adds weight and balance, and a guard for safety.
The knife is a third class lever. The pressure is applied to the other end of the handle nearest to the blade and the fulcrum is at the end of the handle nearest to the wrist.
"you cant" Silly... Yes you can! Totally and easily! If this is the knife I have, there is a button in the middle of the handle that pops open the blade storage compartment. On the same side near the front end, there is another red button. When pressed, it doesn't even feel like it moves much. Look at a blade; see that there are 2 notches in the top? There is a little piece of metal that holds the blade in the knife. This is the button that disengages that little nubbin. To change the blade, extend the blade to its most forward position. Then press that red button, grab the blade (a pliers is safer than your fingers) and pull the blade out the tip of the knife. To insert the blade just do this in reverse. Be sure that the blade is, in fact, engaged and held securely before using the knife. Be sure to dispose of your blade safely. I wrap mine in duct tape and trash it.
