Two words are used frosting and icing. Icing was used around 1769 in the confectionery sense, it is the gerund of ice.
Frosting and icing both refer to a cooked granulated sugar and egg white mixture spread on cakes and allowed to harden so that it resembled ice. Icing actually existed before frosting.
Cake Icing is a mixture of butter, sugar and flavouring you put on top of a cake.
To effectively moisten a dry cake after icing, you can brush the cake with a simple syrup or a flavored syrup. This will add moisture to the cake without affecting the icing on top.
A queen cake is just a bun with icing on top. But for a fairy cake, you cut off a small part of the top, cut it in half and stick the two pieces in the icing to make it look like fairy wings.

A butterscotch krimpet is a cake like square that has a butterscoch flavored icing on top. It can come in various diffrent colors of icing depending on the time of year that it is. pink for valentines day or orange for halloween ect.
It is similar to "as well as" or "last but not least". Think of the layers on top of a cake as information. The icing is " on top of all this" and so the icing is like the final points of the lecture. Hope that helped.
you just make a normal sponge cake and buy some butter icing and mix yellow food colouring in with it and spread it on the top and round the sides and buy like chocolate icing and white icing and just draw on his eyes and his square pants with the icing! hope this helps :)
That should not happen, and it does not need to happen. This probably occurs because the cake is either too dry, too crumbly / weak, or you are pressing and spreading the icing around too hard.
A vanilla or buttercream icing would go nice, with some shaved chocolate and sprinkled cinnamon sugar on top.

You don't put flour on top of a sponge cake; you sprinkle icing sugar on top off a sponge cake. I hope you have learnt a lesson today!
Toothpics stuck in the top of the cake, the plastic wrap will sit on the pics, not the icing. ( a little piece of cardboard on the pointed end sticking up will help )
