The hoses/tubes within the coffee maker can sometimes get clogged due to buildup from the water. An easy way to clear them out is to add some vinegar, instead of water, and turn it on to let it run through. Make sure there isn't water already in there and that there isn't any coffee, either.

Yes, many video consoles will just stop working. Sometimes the hard drives just get overheated and ruin the machines.
