Francisco Coronado embarked on one major expedition, which took place from 1540 to 1542. He led an exploration into the North American Southwest, seeking the mythical Seven Cities of Gold. His journey took him through present-day Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and parts of Kansas. Although he did not find the riches he sought, his expedition provided valuable information about the geography and indigenous peoples of the region.
