Thomas Rolfe, the son of Pocahontas and John Rolfe, died in 1622 during an attack by Native Americans during the Virginia colony's conflicts with Indigenous peoples. He was in Virginia at the time and was killed as part of the broader violence that marked this period. His death is often overshadowed by the historical narratives surrounding his mother and the early colonial period.

She died when she was 22 years. She was in London at that time with her son Thomas Rolfe and husband John Rolfe. She died of a terrible unknown disease. She also never got to meet her parents. It is really awful.
Thomas Rolfe
In 1619, Rolfe married Jane Pierce. They had a daughter, Elizabeth, in 1620. Rolfe died in 1622 after his plantation was destroyed in an Indian attack. It remains unclear whether Rolfe died in the Indian massacre or whether he died as a result of illness. Rolfe's son Thomas after being educated in England, returned to Virginia, where he married. It has been said that his wife's name was Jane Poythress. However, this has been disputed. Thomas Rolfe and his wife had one child, Jane, who married Robert Bolling in 1675. She died in 1676 leaving one son, John, born the same year. So all in all, he died of an illness.
