When someone offers you drugs, don't take them.
They tried to adopt white culture so that they could stay. The U.S. still wanted them removed due to gold that was found in Cherokee territory.
The answer is to decide i had a lot of trouble on it also
The white people needed more land and thought the United States should have one goverenment not two.
The Cherokee's first lived in what is now Arkansas and portions of southern North Carolina. In fact, by a signed treaty the Cherokee entered into an agreement with the United States to take the land, now known as Arkansas and formed "The Cherokee Nation." When gold was discovered in Arkansas, General Tyler was dispatched to 'relocate' the Cherokee Nation, although they were a viable entity. This move characterized by 'The Trail of Tears' is when the Cherokee were relocated to Oklahoma; in an attempt to kill all Cherokee's General and later President Tyler issued blankets infected with the small pox virus to the freezing Cherokee.
The colonists tried to avoid having to separate from Britain. They presented the Olive Tree Petition in an effort to avoid the split.
I know that the Cherokee's were removed from their homeland, and forced into make-shift forts, where most of the 4000 deaths accurred due to lack of food and the cold, but what was the trail really like??? I want to know how the people did it, how they felt, and why the removal was done even though the Cherokee's went to the supreme court and got the treaty signed saying that they didnt have to move. What made Van Buren take away their rights anyway???
To remove ours we had to go underneath and take it out that way. Once we got all the bolts out we had to take off the brackets to get it to drop out. Installation is the reverse of removal. Quite a PITA!!!
