I assume you mean "What is the CULTURE of America?" It's funny I just discussed this very topic with a friend the other day. She pointed out how people in other countries laugh at America because they think our culture is totally out of whack, strange, too aggressive, we tend to jump into things without carefully thinking things out, etc. I suggested there were two things at work here: first, that the American culture is a sort of hodge podge of various cultures because we have had so many immigrants from all over the world. Look at the restaurant section of the yellow pages of any major city and you can find dining experience from all over the world. Second, we are still a young country as compared to these other countries. We are like adolescents still trying to figure things out, find our place and once we find it (the lone super power) we don't like it but we may also abuse it. With all this said the foundation of the American culture is suppose to be make up of the following qualities: liberty/freedom, the idea that anyone can make it, equal opportunity, hard work. From that springs entrepreneurship, the rule of law rather than the rule of man and risk-taking.
