How did Nicolas Jacques conte die?

He was walking along the river Seine one day when this fish jumped out of the water and attacked his good eye (the right one I think?). With two blind eyes, he tripped on a rock and fell flat on his face and blood started gushing out. Luckily for him, a few peasants saw this take place and they rushed him to the healer. The healer however, was not a very competent one so he actually ended up poisoning Conte instead of helping him heal. C'est domage :(
