There are two saints with the name Marcella. One Marcella was martyred for her faith at Alexandria, Egypt, in the year 202. There is no record of how she was killed.
The other Saint Marcella was captured by the Goths who looted Rome, Italy in 410. She had originally been a wealthy person so was tortured to give up her treasure. The Goths finally released her when they realized she had given away everything to the poor. She died soon after from the affects of the torture in Rome during the month of August in the year 410.
