white rice is a simple carb, it is converted to sugar with very little calorie usage. In and of itself it does not "make" you gain weight. However if you would like to lose weight it is best to stick to whole grains. I.E. brown rice and whole wheat bread, these take more processes to get converted into sugar so they use more calories.

and it depends up on the quantity of rice u are eating.

if u eat it more than neccessary, than ofcourse u will gain weight.

100 gms of cooked rice can be taken in the noon.

and its good for health also
