At a sedate 20 minute mile pace, running a quarter mile will burn 30 calories for a 160 pound person. This number will go up as the pace quickens.
Not really enough to matter in any way. The estimated usage for one mile is about 100 calories, so 400 meters would be about 25 calories. That's something like 1/20 of a cupcake.
