Your body takes in as many as you eat, unless you exercise. Look at the labels on the food you're eating, and you can figure out how many you're getting. Some of them will be converted to energy, but if you don't exercise, any excess will be stored and probably turned into fat. If you sit all day, few calories will be used for energy. If you're a construction worker or an athlete or a dancer (you get the point), more calories will be burned--or turned into energy.
