I also have a 10 year old son who is 160 lbs. He is also 5' 3'' tall and has a larger frame. I took him to a pediatric weight specialist and we are in the process of stopping the weight gain. At this point, we have been told to keep all drinks under 5 calories (Ex: water, G2, Diet Soda in moderation) and to reduce his portions by 15%. Also, all snacks should be 100 calories or less (limited to 2 a day). He is doing well and has even lost a couple pounds. I know this doesn't answer what you wanted to know, but I hope it helps!
Don't worry about it. Simply go up to little johnny's room, and ask him if he like's sports. If he likes sports, or just one, practice for it or them all year, to make him better and to make him lose weight. I weighed 160 in the 5th grade, i went from 160 to 140 in a summer, then in 8th grade hit a growth spurt. Now I'm 5`8 150 pounds and in the 9th grade.
In my opinion, i think they should loose at least 700 calories .. well it also depends on what they have eaten !
A nine year old boy should eat about 2,200 calories
1200
3000
2000 calories
600-800 Calories
You should not eat anything........
2000-2500
You should check out a calorie calculator to see how many you are supposed to eat. you have to burn 3500 calories to lose one pound and an exercise reference chart would tell you what exercise burns how many calories.
You're 14!!! stop trying to lose weight.
current weight x 10 = calories to lose weight to maintain weight = 2000 to 2500 calories per day
Multiply your ideal weight by ten and that's how much calories you should consume daily to lose the weight.
the girl should eat 2000 calories a day but wen shes 11-18 she should eat 2200
