BF = Body Fat The water displacement test is the best and most difficult way to determine body fat. The skin pinch test is good but it requires and experienced professional. Many scales include an electro-resistivity test which when combined with information about your height will calculate your body fat. People of more lanky builds tend to read extra low body fat on this test though.
The body shape is formed by bone, muscle, and unfortunately, fat. Skin has no bearing on it.
