Of course. Especially in young people, where issues of control of one's own lifestyle are questionable, modalties of asserting control often manifest. Among these are the few things the person can control -- and eating is one of these. In such cases, where an emotional need for control is real, anything within the person's life that offers a "handle" or obvious means of control can become a disorder.
