Corn isn't really bad for horses. There are many rumors surrounding corn saying that it is bad to feed it to them for many reasons, but for the most part the rumors are not true. There are however some rules you should go by when feeding corn, never feed more than 3 pounds at one time and usually never more than 4 to 6 pounds a day. The horse should always have access to clean water and the bulk of the diet should be made up of grass or hay. The only downside to feeding corn is that it makes a horse 'hot' temperament wise (not heat wise) and if fed in winter when the horse is not being worked as much it can cause behavioural problems from excess energy.
To a horse corn has a sweetish flavor and as a general rule most horses have a bit of a sweet tooth. Corn has a reputation as a 'bad' food for horses, but if fed in small amounts it will not cause any real problems.
it is fine to give corn to horses. they love it as a nice treat
It dies because the ear of corn can not survive in the winter.
Yes horses can eat Corn Flakes, however that does not mean that the cereal is good for them. Corn Flakes are made from corn and corn breaks down into starch and simple sugars which are bad for horses to consume. You could feed a small handful every so often as a treat though with little to no worry so long as the horse does not have a metabolic issue or a history of founder or laminitis.

Corn is fine for horses, with a balanced amount of grain. It will put weight on them quickly, usually used to bulk up horses that are quite down on their weight. No harm in it, my horses are on corn, no problems with it!
