i have started a course of folic acid over the last three months as i hope to try to fall pregnant but i have noticed excessive facial hair growth recently and dont know if this is related or coincidence has anyone else experienced this ?
No prenatal vitamins do not cause you to miss your period - they are vitamins, thus have no influence on your menstrual cycle. Consider that if prenatal vitamins did cause you to miss your period (which would only happen if you missed ovulation) then they would prevent pregnancy, this work against those who were taking them!
Gummy prenatal vitamins are just as effective as regular prenatal vitamins. They have the same vitamins and beneficial factor as a regular prenatal vitamin. Gummy prenatal vitamins are a good alternative because some regular prenatal vitamins may cause constipation.
Prenatal vitamins are formulated for pregnant women to support fetal development and typically contain higher levels of certain nutrients. For men, taking prenatal vitamins is unlikely to cause breast growth, as breast development is primarily influenced by hormonal factors, particularly estrogen. However, excessive intake of certain nutrients, like phytoestrogens, could potentially affect hormone levels. Generally, men should consult a healthcare professional before taking prenatal vitamins or any supplements.
Prenatal vitamins will not cause a positive drug screen.
Yes, it is possible (although fairly unlikely). The B12 compound won't cause the swelling, but one or more of the inert coumpounds in the formulation could cause the facial swelling.
Speaking from experience, I believe that they do.
Of Course not.
I was having a 'normal' pregnancy and HCG levels rising until I started taking my prenatal vitamins. Then 4 days later, I suffered a miscarriage. I found out that my coworker also suffered a miscarriage after she had been on her prenatal vitamins for 5 days. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not.
Prenatal vitamins are the best. Ask your doctor. Don't take vitamins which are not specifically for pregnant women as some (like vitamin A) can cause problems. With vitamins more is not better.
Taking too many prenatal vitamins and DHA for a few days is unlikely to cause significant harm to your baby, but it's important to avoid excessive intake in the future. Prenatal vitamins typically contain higher levels of certain nutrients, and excessive amounts of vitamins like A or D can be harmful. It's best to consult your healthcare provider for personalized advice and to discuss any potential concerns.
Yes, and no. Vitamin C boosts your immune system, which may cause flares or for you to feel unwell. It is difficult to find a prenatal without Vitamin C, but if you can find a prenatal with just folic acid, you will be fine.
In extreme cases and with certain vitamins this can happen.
