Even the mighty Tyrannosaurus was cautious. All predators are.

Given the chance a Tyrannosaurus would not have a full on fight unless it had a fair chance of winning or it was a maternal defence.

If one was challenging an others territory the current predator would show a strong defence and raise itself up a bit to make it look more intimidating. If there wasn't a very good chance of winning it would most likely back down.

So no except for hunting a Tyrannosaurus was a pacifist unless provoked.
