T-Rex wasn't a good hunter. It was very slow for it's size, only being able to run as fast as a Human. T-Rex probably let other Carnivores do the killing then scared them away. So T-Rex was the Hyena of the very late Cretaceous not the Lion as most people say. It would only be able to hunt prey slower than itself, but most of them were heavily armoured and way above most predators killing range. It's massive jaws were only really for show as it wouldn't use them for anything except roaring and eating. It's tiny two fingered arms pointless at the time but if had been given time to evolve a lot more they may eventually have become wings. Don't think of a Dragon it would look more like a ginormous bird.
