Most aspects of human life were the same, or very similar in the 1950's to what they are today. People ate Hamburgers, slept in beds, drove cars, watched movies, etc. Certain details of life have changed. There were no personal computers (and few business computers) in the 1950's. Nothing like this web-site existed in the 1950's. You would have had to do your research by going to a library and looking in books and magazines for your information, or by finding someone with relevant knowledge, whom you could talk to in person.
