unlock the doors manually and it should reset your alarm.
Electromagnets are used for fire doors by holding them open during normal operation and releasing them to close automatically in case of a fire alarm. The magnets are connected to the fire alarm system and are designed to deactivate when the alarm is triggered, allowing the doors to close and block the spread of fire and smoke.
There are many different kinds of fire doors and not all of them are tied to the alarm system. Some fire doors will only close when there is enough heat to sever a fusible link. However, as a general rule, automatically closing fire doors that are latched open with electrical controls would release the latch and close the relevant fire doors upon triggering of the fire alarm by any initiating device.
A car that has a alarm will usually have a red light on the instrument panel that when you lock the car with the key fob will come on and stay on for a few seconds. After the alarm is set the light will begin to flash. To test the alarm roll down the drivers window and close all the doors and trunk and on some cars even the hood has to be closed. Lock the doors with your key fob and when the red light starts to blink unlock the door manually by reaching inside to unlock it and open the door from the outside. The alarm should sound. To turn off the alarm use the key fob to unlock the doors.
close the bonnet and then lock the doors

There is a module behind the carpet..drivers side next to where your right foot goes. Top plug is alarm, pull this out to disable.....Be aware this is also linked to the remote central locking so doors may have to be locked manually......Hope this helps There is a module behind the carpet..drivers side next to where your right foot goes. To set the alarm on a 2001 Cadillac DTS, first ensure the vehicle is locked. Use the key fob to lock the doors, which will activate the alarm system. If your vehicle is equipped with a factory alarm, you can also manually set the alarm by pressing the lock button twice within a few seconds. The vehicle's horn may beep to confirm that the alarm is activated.
Automatic door systems and the fire alarm systems are linked together. Automatic doors are held open by strong magnetic type devices, that are activated(turned on) during normal activity. When the alarm is activated, the devices are shut off and the doors close. These doors are programmed to close in an effort to keep smoke and flames from spreading too far(these doors are usually strongly fire resistant.) Once the alarm is shut off/reset, the devices will be activated again and will remain open once somebody opens the doors back up. Another type of "automatic door" is a fire door that slams shut (springs, counterbalances, gravity, etc) when the heat-sensitive link melts, or when a fire alarm is activated. These heavy doors are NOT intended to be opened during a fire for means of escape, so there must be other doors accessible for people to escape the area safely.
