You have to take a ferry across the Georgia Strait to the mainland, and that takes 1 hour 35 minutes once it leaves the terminal. Once you get off the ferry in Tsawwassen, it's roughly 50 kms to the City of Vancouver.
As far as I know there is no ferry service between Dover and Belgium anymore. From Dover you have a ferry to Calais in France.
