Ten acres can be any length, depending on how wide the area is that you are drawing the boundary around. One acre is 4,840 square yards. So a 10 acre area of land one yard wide would be 40,840 yards, or 27.5 miles long. Not an easy field to plough. On the other hand a 10 acre area of land 100 yards wide would be 484 yards long. One acre, as a square, would be 69.57 yards on each side.
