Well i can't tell you for sure but this is my best explanation. On Monster Quest, a television show on the History channel, a scientist believed it to be a Boxer ( a type of dog) because of the similarities in the skeleton. Though this is somewhat believable, a full skeleton was never seen as far as i know and the only evidence available were several photographs of a rotting animal on a beach. The only reason that people are thinking it may not be a dog, though I agree with it's short hindquaters and thick body type it does look like a boxer, is that it seems to have some sort of "beak" Now if you look you can clearly see it's not just some teeth, it's actually skeleton ending in a smooth rounded off edge. Although I've been thinking and decided that it could be the snout sort of ending and all the teeth have been broken off, so it only looks to be a beak. I'm not sure anyone really examined to inside of i'ts mouth for places that seem to be broken off teeth.
