all over the world but the majority is in the US. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since Wicca is a religion, it can be practiced most anywhere. The places that have state religions however, that are Christian or Muslim may have less in number because the falsely accuse us of satanism. Wicca can be practiced anywhere, but the U.S. and Great Britain have the highest number of known Wiccans.
in 2009, the Pagan Federation estimated that there were around 360,000 Pagans (not necessarily Wiccans) living in the UK. That's about as far as we've gotten to tagging the number of us around the world! Bit like herding cats when it comes down to it! Mainly because, by and large, Pagans (most Wiccans included), when not being fairly secretive, are simply invisible. The censuses which go out to households with a view to estimating how many people are this religion or that religion, only list the major world denominations, and "other". Although last year there was a push (in the UK at least), to write in that spare box "Pagan - Wiccan" or whatever else you happened to see yourself as.
Until there is an effective method of measuring this demographic (and let's fact it there won't be since many Pagans don't feel the need to push themselves out there and be recognised), there won't be an accurate answer to your question.
the religion wicca is know to have started in England so i think that is the area in where you would find wiccans but its is quite rare to just find sombody who worships wicca it isn't a very well known religion
this article explains a lot about wicca, it has interviews with local witches, etc. :
Yes, Faerie Wicca is practiced.
anywhere, but its most openly practiced in places like England, Ireland, and places around and in Europe
Yes. One of the easiest ways to do this is to belive in the voice of nature. Then, your journey begins. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, I seem an obvious misconception here. Wicca... is a religion. Witchcraft and spellwork are practices. Wicca is not spells, that's witchcraft.
Wicca is a diverse religion that is practiced internationally. At a spiritual level Wicca can be interpreted as many different things. For instance people who practice Norse, Celtic, Greek, Inca, traditional Native American, and ancient Chinese paths are often considered Wiccan. Wicca is a nature-based religion that focuses on the cycles of the earth. Because of this many spiritual paths follow the basic principals of Wicca. Depending on one's interpretation of Wicca it is practiced in almost every country in the world. But, commonly people who are 'self-proclaimed' Wiccans reside in North America and Europe.
Wicca today is a commonly practiced religion, though many are still in the closet so no true number of practitioners can be accurately recorded. It is a very unique religion that people find themselves drawn to. It is a constantly growing and expanding religion that takes on new followers everyday, no different than any other religion. The main difference is that Wicca doesn't scare people into converting, as most of us believe that everyone has a path they need to follow, and if their path brings them to Wicca, then they should follow it, if it takes them to Christianity, then they should follow it.
Wicca is a religion whehre Witchcraft is practiced. A Wiccan is a Witch (Male or Female). But there are many other traditions where Witchcraft is practiced. Not all Witches are Wiccan. The convocation ceremony to become a Wiccan is called "Initiation"
Wicca, one of the many pagan spiritual paths, is not traditionally practiced in any specific building. Sacred space is created anew each and every time a Circle is called. If a specific area (a grove of trees, circle of stone, area in your garden or room in your home) is used repeatedly, it has been known to pick up and retain a bit of the energies used in the various rituals and testimonies performed there.
Wicca has its own scriptures.
Wicca isn't based anywhere.
Wicca started in England. It is widely spread in USA, and also in Australia. Wiccans live in so many countries, all around the world including India and Sri Lanka. Wicca is not limited to one country. You cannt say how many Wiccans are there in a country, because when wicca is not known to the general public of a country or if there is a negative stigma about Wicca in a country, Wiccans don't openly tell what their religion is. One other reason is, Wiccans do not point out other Wiccans to non Wiccans, or even to other Wiccans
Wicca isn't based anywhere.
No. Wicca is a religion, not a language.
