What does the Bible say about reading your horoscope?

Althought The Bible does not mention horoscopes, it contains many approving examples of the use of numerology and Astrology. No doubt the ancients would have been keenly interested in whether horoscopes are a valuable new way of knowing the future.

That depends on how literally you interpret the Bible. Here are some things the Bible says about horoscopes, astrology, and fortunetelling:

In Isaiah 47, we are warned that those who trust in astrologers, stargazers, and prognosticators will not be saved.

In Daniel 1, we are told that God will give us more knowledge than astrologers and magicians.

Throughout the Bible we are repeatedly told that we should witness against 'sorcerers' and those with 'familiar spirits' - astrology could be included. We are also told repeatedly to trust in God alone for our knowlege and salvation.

"This is what the LORD says: 'Do not act like other nations who try to read their future in the stars. Do not be afraid of their predictions, even though other nations are terrified by them. Their ways are futile and foolish. They cut down a tree and carve an idol. They decorate it with gold and silver and then fasten it securely with hammer and nail so it won't fall over.'" (Jer.10:2-3 NLT New Living Translation)

In the book of Deuteronomy it says The things of the future are for God all alone to be known.

I think the Bible doesn't say anything specific about astrology or the zodiac but the principle is there.

Isa 8:19 And when they say to you, "Seek those who are mediums and wizards, who whisper and mutter," should not a people seek their God? Should they seek the dead on behalf of the living?

2Ch 33:6 Also he caused his sons to pass through the fire in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom; he practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft and sorcery, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger.
