Humans both feared and admired Zeus, because he was almighty and was the 'king' of the Gods. He had the ability to control lightning and weather, so people wanted to please him so he would take his anger out on them. When a lightning storm came, or just bad rain and clouds, etc., they feared that they had done something wrong to upset him and that he would take his wrath out on them.

Hera and a few other woman was with Zeus in the crime of being raped. Zeus and Hera gave birth to Athena but Zeus feared that she was going to take over his powers of being the number one god so Zues swallowed her.

As in greek mythology nothing is black and white, Zeus gave the power of destiny to the Moirae (what will a mortal do, when and how he will die) and they were his subordinates, but he couldn't override their will (even though he was king of the gods). Also Zeus feared the rage of Gaea and Chaos. But the one he feared most was Hera, his wife.
