That's an interesting question. I think, in the absence of H. Pylori infection in the stomach or concurrent use of NSAIDs (aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, etc) or heavy alcohol intake, that cola consumption _shouldn't_ cause an ulcer, although it can indeed cause gastritis or dyspepsia, including acid reflux/heartburn (sour stomach, indigestion, burning sensations in the stomach and in the chest).
I suppose it is possible that excessive consumption, especially on an empty stomach, could cause an ulcer even in folks who are not using NSAIDs and don't have H. Pylori infection.
I think the best answer would be from a gastroenterologist.
I used to drink diet cola for years and never had a problem and gave it up. Now, I started drinking it again and my stomach just feels like it is burning and there is a slight nauseating and mild achiness there. I drank it on an empty stomach. Tea will do this too.
I know that caffeine increases stomach acid production by stimulating the proton pump. Phosphoric acid is not good, but your stomach lining can tolerate a much stronger acid such as hydrochloric acid, so I am not sure if it is strong enough to erode the gastric mucosa.
I'd ask a specialist about this. Either way though, cola drinks are not good for you. Phosphoric acid increases the risk of kidney stones and leeches calcium from your bones. Taken with a meal, cola drinks interfere with vitamin and mineral absorption and can cause people prone to anemia to develop anemia by inhibiting iron absorption from food.
Stay away from cola or only drink 1 can a day. If you feel any unpleasant symptoms in your stomach after drinking it, quit and drink water or something much more healthy.
I hope this helps, but I think the jury is still out if cola _by itself_ can cause stomach ulcers. It is a fact though that cola will aggravate a preexisting gastric ulcer (not sure about duodenal ulcers though).

A peptic ulcer is an ulcer of the stomach. Current research has discovered that the most common cause is H. pylori, a bacteria that resides in the stomach.
A sore on the inner walls of the stomach is commonly referred to as a gastric ulcer. It is a type of peptic ulcer that occurs in the lining of the stomach. Gastric ulcers can cause symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, and nausea.
It depends. They can erode into an artery in the wall of the stomach and cause mild to severe bleeding. Sometimes they are painful and sometimes not. The pain is not necessarily proportional to the severity of the ulcer. Chronic irritation of the stomach or esophagus from an ulcer may predispose to cancer.
no,duodenal ulcer lin the stomach's bottom.
You mean ulcer. They are healing wounds.
Yes
Cause of peptic ulcer is the increased acidity in the stomach. Hydrochloric acid destroys a stomach wall and forms an ulcer. If the blood vessels are destroying in the stomach wall the bleeding are forming.
Pickled onions are coated in vinegar and left to pickle. Too much vinegar can cause a stomach ulcer. Nobody wants a stomach ulcer.
Ulcer of stomach known as Gastric ulcer. Ulcer in small intestine known as small bowel ulcer
from the definition ulcer is the break out of the membrane which cause malfunction of that part so the effect depend on the type of ulcer that you talking about for example ulcer of mouth stomach etc
Yes, it can rupture and cause sepsis much like a ruptured appendix can.
A bleeding ulcer (in the stomach) is very dangerous and in some cases can even cause a person to bleed to death, however, it has no connection to the bladder and does not cause uncontrollable urination. A person could have both a stomach problem and a bladder problem, but the problems are separate.
