I think it depends on peoples' various circumstances. Certainly you CAN'T drink everyday! I have Neuropathy from Cipro and I drink about a 6 pack of light beer every weekend or every other weekend. I was NEVER a heavy drinker and get buzzed pretty quickly and I am on a heavy vitamin regiment of B vitamins, so I think that helps me quite a bit in making the alcohol less harmful.
In the 8 months since I had PN (peripheral Neuropathy) I really haven't noticed any damage from my alcohol consumption (though my limit for any weekend is about 6 Light Beers) If I could quite completely I would, but dealing with pain is hard, so getting some social drinking in is very tempting. The key, in my opinion, is don't over-do it - AND make sure you're taking your B vitamins!
