After working out, it's generally recommended to drink about 16 to 24 ounces of Gatorade to help rehydrate and replenish electrolytes. If you're slightly dehydrated, you may want to consume a similar amount, focusing on restoring your fluid balance. It's also important to listen to your body and drink according to your thirst and hydration needs.
I think they stop working propaly but I don't think it killes you
I'm sorry to say, but I think it does. Try tide, it's been working for me for 40 years.
Gatorade was developed in the 1960's by researchers at the University of Florida. Researchers were working on a beverage that could replace fluids that athletes lose while playing. They named it Gatorade after the University of Florida's football team the "Gators".
In advisable yes, bad for you? - put it this way, there is salts which you don't need in it if you are not exercising. Put it this way...its no GOOD for you if you don't exercise, and I wouldn't touch it or similar products if I didnt exercise so much! (its horrible!). Sadly it looks like it turning into fashion to drink....(rolleyes)
Water because your body is 75-80% water. Even though gatorade does have electrolytes which are good for you it still has way more sugar than your body needs after working out.
If i were you, I would drink both. Many salts and nutrients you need are sweat out during excsersize, and replacing them while working out is beneficial to you (Gatorade). Similarly, when working hard, you may find that you can lose upwards of 3-6 pounds of water, so it is important to replace that. However, the molecules in Gatorade are a bit bigger, and not as readily available to become sweat as water alone. Gatorade however, can still not provide the benefits of water in terms of long term hydration. noob pwned
We drink water to avoid becoming dehydrated, which, in severe cases, could cause our internal organs to stop working.
When you are dehydrated, your kidneys do not stop working entirely, but their function is significantly affected. Dehydration leads to reduced blood flow to the kidneys, prompting them to conserve water by concentrating urine and reducing its volume. If dehydration is severe and prolonged, it can impair kidney function and potentially lead to acute kidney injury. Therefore, while the kidneys may still function under dehydration, their efficiency and effectiveness are compromised.
Never take drinks that have sugar in them because it slows your performance down. You can take Powerade or Gatorade to help boost your energy up when you're working out.
Rihanna didn't collapse. After she finished her verse she went back stage for a drink of water and to sit down because the air conditioning wasnt working and she was very dehydrated. :)
Researchers from the University of Florida working with the athletic department came up with an electrolyte drink that would help rehydrate athletes better than water. Because the mascot of U of F is the Gator, they called the drink Gatorade. it is possible that they determined that the name of the drink should be Gator-ade, perhaps as a play on the drink name lemonade(lemon being the first flavor developed), and a pun on the word aid and suffix-ade.
