The fluid would back up into your lungs because it can't be processed fast enough. If you are asking if too much means say two 32oz bottles every day then the answer would be no. It would be preferable to drink water and maintain a healthy diet to provide you with all the electrolytes you require to function properly, just choose the zero calorie gatorade if the option is available. Gatorade as it is regular contain sugar/high fructose corn syrup as the sweetener which really provides no value.
