A deep-sounding instrument known for its bass music is the double bass. This large string instrument produces rich, resonant tones and is commonly used in orchestras, jazz ensembles, and various genres of music. Its low frequency range contributes significantly to the harmonic foundation of musical compositions. Other examples of deep-sounding instruments include the tuba and bassoon, which also provide deep bass sounds in their respective contexts.

Transposition for the bass clarinet involves playing music written in a different key than the instrument's sounding pitch. The bass clarinet is a transposing instrument, meaning that when it plays a written C, it sounds as a concert B-flat. This requires the player to read music in a different key than it is written in to produce the correct pitches.
A bass soloist is a person who performs music on the bass instrument by himself/herself.

The highest sounding string instrument, called the violin, is slightly smaller than its cousin instrument, the viola. Other members of the stringed instrument group are the bass and the cello, each played standing up or sitting down. ~ Hexedgirl92
Double Bass. (The Piccolo is- I believe- the highest sounding member of the woodwind family of standard orchestral instruments whilst the Double Bass is the lowest sounding member of the String family).
It depends on how big the instrument is
Basso continuo, sometimes just called _¾_continuo_¾, was played by a keyboard instrument and another bass instrument such as cello, violone (an old form of double bass) or bassoon. The keyboard instrument was normally a harpsichord or, if it was being played in a church, an organ.
The lowest sounding instrument in the ORCHESTRAL string family is the double bass. It is also the largest. Hope I helped. :D
An electric bass guitar is often used with acoustic ensembles, but there is the problem of a too-loud amplified bass guitar. This disturbs the sound of the whole ensemble. The bass has never been the loudest sounding instrument of that group.
The bass guitar is a stringed instrument played primarily with the fingers or thumb or by using a plectrum.
In a string orchestra, an orchestra with violin, cello, viola, and bass, the bass is the largest and lowest instrument. However, if you were looking for the largest string instrument in a full orchestra, the piano would be the instrument for which you are looking.
